Having worked commercially as a watercolor artist, painting and play have always been intertwined — until they became less so. Amarilys Henderson had painted so many subjects that she needed an outlet. And so, while client projects dried, she’d wander onto scrap papers and boards to unwind. What she now call “watercolor playgrounds” quickly became a regular creative practice. Creating forms with loose watercolor bleeds, painting organic shapes, and playing with movement lit her heart! It’s like mounting building blocks in layers of color. It feels like touching a place her imagination paints. And the final look echoes back to her: there is more. Vibrant colors mingle to become is a watercolor playground — ready to jump into! This art feels so true to her, and she is so proud to have it as her debut as a Moda designer!
